MSNBC: Trump’s Comments Could “Literally” Trigger Nuclear War

MSNBC host Chris Hayes kicked the fear porn up a notch recently, saying, “Trump’s comments about nuclear weapons have experts worried he could literally inadvertently trigger a catastrophe.”

Literally”?

His guest, Esquire writer Charlie Pierce, went on to say:

We have what, I think the total is 7100, individual nuclear war heads. I don’t even want to know what the destructive capabilities there. And we’re about to hand the launch orders over to a guy who can’t stay away from his phone for 15 minutes… So yeah, I think we’re all good to need a refresher course in what nuclear weapons are all about.

Thanks for that, mainstream media.

You have to feel sorry for anyone who truly believes MSNBC is delivering “news” and not propaganda… those people have got to be living in a waking nightmare where we’re all going to spend the next 1,460 days walking on eggshells to “literally” avoid nuclear war, and all because Trump has vocal chords.

But hey, at least the warmongering psychopaths running the show have the perfect patsy under which to launch World War III which they’ve only been working on and building towards for years now.

Obama expels Russian doctors who were treating injured Syrian children

President Barack Obama expelled 15 doctors who were working on life-saving treatment for injured Syrian children from the U.S.

According to the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense, Obama expelled 15 medical experts who belong to the Tsentrospas State Central Airmobile Rescue Team (TSCART) and who were working at the John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland on 3-D printed prosthetics for use on children and babies wounded in the Syrian civil war.

Whatdoesitmean.com reports:

President Putin ordered that the TSCART airmobile hospital be deployed to Syria last month, this report continues, at the urging of Dr. Elizaveta Glinka (known and beloved around the world as Dr. Liza), the founder and director of the palliative health charity Spravedlivaya Pomosh (Fair Aid) [РУС], and Noble Prize winning John Hopkins Hospital Dr. Peter Agre—both of whom had organized and signed the document titled Open Letter: Let Us Treat Patients in Syria urging the warring powers to allow the wounded in this war to be treated.

As one of the “major/main” causes of concern towards the war wounded children of Syria being the loss of limbs due to hidden mines and booby traps planted by Islamic terrorists, this report notes, Dr. Liza with her American counterpart Dr. Agre established a coordinated instructive regime for TSCART medical experts to be trained at John Hopkins Hospital in the creating of 3-D printed prosthetics that this US hospital is a world leader in.

With TSCART medical experts being committed to using the latest methods to treat the war wounded children of Syria, this report details, on 25 December, Dr. Liza began her travel to Syria in order to supervise the first transport of these young victems of Islamic terror to John Hopkins Hospital in order to have artificial 3-D limbs created for them—but who died in route when her Federation military plane mysteriously crashed into the Black Sea killing her, and all others aboard.

Four days after Dr. Liza’s mysterious death, this report states, on 29 December, President Obama ordered the 15-member TSCART medical team training at John Hopkins Hospital out of the United States (along with 20 other Federation diplomats) and confiscated their training residence in Maryland—that has been owned by the Federation since 1972 and most frequently was used by Federation workers and diplomats having extended stays in the US.

President Obama’s expulsion of these TSCART medical experts, this report states, is being widely, and dishonestly, portrayed by America’s “fake news” propaganda mainstream media as being a retaliation for the Federations supposed hacking of the 2016 US presidential election—but that no proof whatsoever exists of this being true, and as fully 71% of the American people know is a lie too.

Even worse, this report notes, President Obama’s action in his throwing out of the US these TSCART medical experts training to help the war wounded children and babies of Syria shows his siding with his nations warmongering neocons, that is so dangerously outrageous both the left and right in America have condemned it—with Oscar winning leftist Hollywood director Oliver Stone slamming both the Obama regime and the propaganda mainstream media for their dishonest “the Russian’s are coming” narrative, and the rightist former President Ronald Reagan official Secretary Paul Roberts now warning that these neocons have been institutionalized in parts of the CIA, State Department and Pentagon and, most dangerously, still retain their influence in the media.

And at the same time President Obama is denying Federation aid to the war wounded children and babies of Syria by his throwing out the US these TSCART medical experts, this report grimly notes, his neocon war machine continues to bomb hospitals in Iraq like they did earlier today in Mosel for the second time this month—and matches the barbarity the Obama regime used in giving Islamic terrorists the coordinates to shell a Federation hospital in Syria while it was treating children.

So vile and repugnant, in fact, has the Obama regime and its neocon allies become, this report says, they no longer consider the bombing of civilian hospitals as being a war crime, choosing, instead, to call them nothing more than “unintentional human error and equipment failure”—while at the same time Egyptian police arrested CIA-paid “actors” who were staging anti-Russian propaganda using young children to be portrayed as Syrian war victems to be shown on television by Americas “fake news” mainstream media.

To if President Trump will be able to overcome these barbaric Obama regime neocons once he gains office, this report grimly concludes, may not be so certain when viewed in the light of one of Americas top antiwar activists, Justin Raimondo, writing today in the Los Angeles Times a warning about what he calls Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS, that has infected all of US elites—and whose “logically conclusion” of he states:

“If you ask a TDS victim what might help them feel better, they’ll use the word “normalize.” As in, we mustn’t “normalize” Trump. What they’re really saying is that normal means of dealing with him aren’t enough.

Which raises the question: If he’s another Hitler, if he’s in league with Putin, then why is assassination out of the question? Poke a TDS victim and you’ll find they don’t think that “solution” is out of the question at all.

This is the final stage of the TDS epidemic: violence against a democratically elected leader. Unless a cure for TDS is found, this is where we are headed.”

Donald Trump's Christmas message is here and no one knows what to make of it

So what does Donald Trump say to unify the country following a particularly bitter election and ahead of his approaching inauguration?

A pretty run-of-the-mill message if we're honest.

‘VOTERS WANTED TO MAGA!’: TRUMP SLAMS OBAMA’S THIRD TERM REMARKS

President-elect Donald Trump continued assailing President Barack Obama on Twitter Tuesday after the Commander-in-chief claimed he probably could have sealed a third term.

“President Obama campaigned hard (and personally) in the very important swing states, and lost,” Trump tweeted. “The voters wanted to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Obama claimed in a recently aired interview he could have beat Trump in the 2016 presidential election if he had been able to run.
“I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” Obama said on former chief strategist David Axelrod’s “The Axe Files” podcast.
“I know that in conversations that I’ve had with people around the country, even some people who disagreed with me, they would say the vision, the direction that you point towards is the right one,” Obama asserted.
In typical fashion, Trump promptly took to Twitter to tell the American people exactly what he thought about Obama’s comments and legacy.

“President Obama said that he thinks he would have won against me. He should say that but I say NO WAY! – jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc,” the president-elect tweeted Monday.
As pointed out by Trump, key swing states where Obama campaigned for former opponent Hillary Clinton such as Wisconsin, North Carolina and Florida ultimately went Republican.
Last month, as Democrats struggled to come to grips with the election loss, Trump also claimed he would have also beat Clinton if the US president was picked by popular vote instead of by the electoral college.

He also stated he would have won the popular vote if “millions hadn’t voted illegally.”

Jeremy Corbyn compares Theresa May to King Henry VIII over Brexit

Jeremy Corbyn has likened Theresa May to King Henry VIII after the Prime Minister steamrollered MPs' views on Brexit .

Labour's leader blasted Mrs May with a powerful reference to the six-wives king - who used his "divine right" to defy the Pope.

The Tory leader has fought a Supreme Court appeal to stop MPs voting before she triggers Article 50 , which kick-starts Britain's two-year exit from the EU.

Mrs May believes she can act with the 'royal prerogative' - the Queen's centuries-old direct power channelled through her.

And she has gone further by repeatedly refusing to guarantee a vote on the final Brexit deal during the Article 50 process.

But Mr Corbyn said a final Brexit deal "would have to come to Parliament."

He told The Guardian: "She cannot hide behind Henry VIII and the divine rights of the power of kings on this one.

"The idea that on something as major as this the Prime Minister would use the royal prerogative to bypass Parliament is extraordinary. I don't know where she's coming from."

A painting of Henry VIII hangs in Mrs May's grand reception room in Downing Street - flanked by others of powerful women Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots.

Mr Corbyn's comments came as he gave interviews to the Guardian and the Daily Mirror looking ahead at 2017.

He told the Mirror his party will be stepping up its campaign to counter the “extremely negative messages” from UKIP in northern heartlands.

But he is refusing to shift his stance on free movement of people - a growing demand of Labour MPs and his trade union backers.

Asked if there should be changes to free movement, he said: “It’s very hard to see how you can be part of the single market without one of the conditions being the right of free movement of people.

"There is an issue about balance of living standards and working conditions across Europe.”

Mr Corbyn admitted Labour's performance in the Sleaford by-election was not the best (Photo: Getty)

Mr Corbyn urged Labour's hundreds of thousands of new members to "get on board" and start knocking on doors ahead of polls like the Copeland by-election, where Labour is defending a 2,500 majority.

He said he "can't pretend" recent Westminster by-election results in Richmond Park and Sleaford, where Labour came third and fourth, were good.

But he accused the media of ignoring a local council by-election which Labour won - by 66 votes on a 17% turnout.

Labour's Rajash Mehta won 358 votes and Tory Robert Cadman won 292 in Telford's Horsehay and Lightmoor ward, which was vacant after a Tory councillor's death.

He told the Guardian: "On the same day we gained a ward in Telford… with a 20% increase in vote, and overall majority on council.

"We’ve never won that ward ever – no media reported that. We held a ward in Lancaster.”

He added: “Results vary; I want to do better.”

Elsewhere Mr Corbyn joked he was unlikely to form an alliance with former Labour PM Tony Blair , who is preparing a return to politics.

"I think the nuanced differences of opinion between me and Tony Blair are quite well known," he said.

"I don’t see Tony Blair and I working together. I don’t think he does either."

The plan of Trump and Netanyahu for sending Palestinians to Jordan

He continued: “He should also solve the refugee problems by canceling “UNRWA”. “Everything depends of his first meeting with Trump. This meeting determines the type of relations with the new government.”

He also emphasized: “Netanyahu has a historic opportunity to reform Obama’s ruin, and change Israel’s international and regional image.”

He also urged Netanyahu to stop financial support from UNRWA. He described the institute as an enemy because of healing the descendants of the Palestinian refugees.

In addition, Eldad explained that because of Barack Obama’s pressures, Netanyahu has stopped the construction process in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem. However, Israel was not immune from the negative decisions of the Security Council.”

Saudi Arabia makes it more difficult to travel to Iraq

It is clear that most of those who intend to travel to Iraq are pilgrims of Najaf, Karbala and Samarra, the visitors of the shrines of Ahlul Bayt (as). Those who are illegally in Iraq and carry out terrorist operations, have excellent conditions and financial supports from the government and face no problems in their inhuman acts. The system of Saudi Arabia does nothing but killing, violating human rights and excommunicating whoever doesn’t behave according to their wills. They want to discourage the younger generation from the Prophet and his Ahlul Bayt (as). Their hope is diverting them toward Wahhabism.

Iraqi official wants cutting ties with Saudi Arabia

He urged the foreign ministry to cut off diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia which is the leader of the terrorist armies in Syria and Iraq and supports repression in Bahrain and also killing Yemeni children in Yemen. At a press conference he condemned the subversive role of Saudi Arabia and Qatar against free nations in the Arab world and expressed his surprise about the role of “thamer al sabhan” former Saudi ambassador in Baghdad.
He added:”We need a serious diplomacy against the continuous aggressions of Saudi Arabia. That’s the demand of all freedom-loving Iraqis on the defense of their national sovereignty.”
Saudi Arabia and Qatar are among the first countries in the world that created terrorism.
After Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990 Saudi Arabia broke off diplomatic relations with Iraq. “Abdullah Al Harthy” was the last resident ambassador in Iraq from 1983 to 1990.

UK ‘secretly selling arms to Saudi Arabia and elsewhere under OPAQUE licensing system’

But many of the countries buying British arms are run by governments with dubious human rights records, even though the destinations of such exports are supposed to meet human rights standards.

Now, according to the i newspaper, an increasing number of military consignments are being sold under the Open Individual Export Licence (OIEL) after quiet Government encouragement in 2015, despite criticism from MPs.

Under the OIEL licences, numerous consignments can be exported to one destination under a single licence for up to five years after initial scrutiny. They are supposed to be “less sensitive goods” but campaigners say this vague requirement is often flouted.

Furthermore, the value of OIEL licenced goods does not need to be publicly declared, meaning it is difficult to determine their volume, though it is estimated to be in the tens of millions.

For instance, using just 32 OIEL licences, 150 different types of defence and military goods – including technology and parts for fighter aircraft – have been exported to Saudi Arabia, the newspaper reported.

Saudi Arabia has been widely condemned for its role in the Yemeni conflict, where its airstrikes have been blamed for large numbers of civilian deaths.

Other British goods that have been exported around the world under OIEL licences reportedly include rifles, crowd control weapons and helicopters.

While proponents say OIEL licences help efficiency and cut red tape, opponents say they allow inappropriate sales to go through.

Andrew Smith, of Campaign Against the Arms Trade, which obtained the data, said: “Open licences only exacerbate the lack of transparency in the arms trade. UK arms are playing a central role in the devastation of Yemen, and this means the scale of arms exports could be even higher than we already thought.

“Arms exports aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet, they can have deadly consequences and send a message of support to some of the most abusive regimes in the world.”

Exports under OIEL licences have increased in recent years, i reported. While there were just 761 granted in 2009, there were 1,866 in 2015. And the figure is set to increase in 2016, when there were 1,100 OIEL licences in the first six months.

Anti-arms trade campaigners claimed this means the UK could be more deeply involved in the international arms trade than previously thought and that the exports send a “message of support” to despotic regimes.

Why does Israel give Hebrew names to the Palestinian streets?

The New Hebrew street names are part of an ongoing project of Israeli municipality in Jerusalem. The mayor act for Judaization of the city and change Palestinian-Islamic signs and symbols by giving Hebrew names for streets and put Jewish writings in old houses in the part of the city that the settlers have seized.

Residents of these regions strongly resisted against these changes, but these initiatives are targeting future generations.

Dr. Jamal Amro, Jerusalem expert, said: “Israel has a long and successful history in these kinds of changes. He does not intend to influence the contemporary generation, the next generation of the two nations is important.”

“The only way to counter this action that was aimed at distorting history is emphasizing on the original Palestinian name of streets to ensure the infiltration of these names in mind of international community and the next generation of Palestinians and Jews,” he added.

Obama signs his last Pentagon budget: A legacy of war and reaction

Obama’s signing statement was released on the Friday afternoon of a long holiday weekend, the favored time in Washington for dumping news that officials hope will escape the attention of the public. Once again, behind the backs of the American people, US imperialism is preparing another escalation of militarism and war.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), as the Pentagon budget legislation is known, runs over 3,000 pages. It can be safely said that few if any of the members of the House and Senate who overwhelming approved it (in the Senate it passed 92-7) read the bill before casting their votes.

Yet, contained within its pages, along with the dry language of military personnel policies and the lucrative authorization of multi-billion-dollar contracts for new weapons systems, there is to be found a key to the real political legacy of Barack Obama, whose presidency comes to an end in barely three weeks.

Eight years ago, Obama was swept into office on a wave of antiwar sentiment based on the misplaced hopes of large sections of the population that America’s first black president, with his promise of “change you can believe in,” would spell an end to the wars and crimes of the Bush administration.

After barely nine months in office, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his supposed “vision” of a world free of nuclear weapons and for having “captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.”

Even as the peace prize was announced, Obama was meeting with his war council to plan a major escalation of the war in Afghanistan. He was putting in place the framework for his signature policy—the drone assassination program that has killed thousands from Afghanistan and Pakistan to Somalia and Yemen. And he was preparing what has since emerged as a $1 trillion nuclear weapons modernization program.

The supposed candidate of peace and change will now leave office with the deplorable distinction of becoming the first American president to have kept the country at war for two entire four-year terms. He seamlessly continued the so-called “war on terror” launched by his predecessor, George W. Bush, at the cost of over a million lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, while adding to it the wars launched under the cynical pretense of “human rights” in Libya and Syria, killing hundreds of thousands more and turning millions of others into refugees.

The bill that he signed last Friday provides the necessary resources for the uninterrupted continuation of this eruption of American militarism in pursuit of global US hegemony.

The general outlines of the NDAA were previously reported. In addition to the base Pentagon budget, it includes a $67 billion Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) appropriation, a massive slush fund used to finance US wars abroad as well as budget-busting increases to military spending. Further funds are provided for the Energy Department’s nuclear weapons programs.

In the final version of the legislation, previously unpublicized provisions have emerged that amount to a mandate to the incoming Trump administration to continue and escalate the provocative military confrontations initiated by the Obama White House.

Included in the bill is language facilitating the “provision of man-portable air defense systems to the vetted Syrian opposition during fiscal year 2017.” As is well known, weapons funneled by the CIA and the Pentagon to the so-called “moderate rebels” have invariably ended up in the hands of Al Qaeda-affiliated militias that constitute the core fighting force in the US-orchestrated war for regime-change in Syria. These anti-aircraft missiles can be used not only to shoot down Russian warplanes, but also civilian passenger jets.

Another part of the bill aimed directly against Moscow includes a major increase in military aid to the right-wing, anti-Russian government of Ukraine, including for “lethal” military equipment.

In a blatant provocation directed against China, the legislation provides for high-level exchanges between the US military and the military of the island of Taiwan, which Beijing claims as part of its territory. The measure represents a further attack on the “One China” policy embraced by Washington for nearly four decades. It is in line with the provocation staged by Donald Trump earlier this month, accepting a congratulatory phone call from Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and thereby signaling plans for an even more confrontational policy toward China.

Both Russia and China issued statements denouncing the provisions in the NDAA directed specifically against them.

The legislation also includes a provision known as the “Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act,” which represents a plan to build up the propaganda arm of the US government. In the name of creating a new government agency to “counter foreign state and non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts aimed at undermining United States national security interests,” it establishes the framework for directing propaganda against the American people and cracking down on anyone who challenges or exposes the crimes of the US government.

Perhaps most decisively for the legacy of the 44th president of the United States, the legislation enacted last Friday is the seventh NDAA in a row signed by Obama that explicitly prohibits the closure of the infamous US prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In his signing statement, Obama cynically criticized this provision, while accepting it, declaring that “unless the Congress changes course, it will be judged harshly by history.”

In reality, when it comes to Guantanamo, history will find Obama himself guilty. On his first day in office in 2009 he announced an executive order promising that within one year he would shut down the prison camp, which had become a hated symbol of US torture and criminality. Ever since, Obama has bowed to the Pentagon, the intelligence agencies and the political right, including within the Democratic Party, obeying the restrictions of Congress and refusing to take any action to close Guantanamo.

At the same time, he protected all those within the Bush administration who were responsible for ordering and overseeing the systematic use of torture not only at Guantanamo, but in Iraq, Afghanistan and at CIA black sites round the world.

On January 20, Obama will hand the keys of Guantanamo to Donald Trump, who has vowed to “load it up with some bad dudes.” He has also called for the imprisonment of US citizens there and indicated his support for a redoubled use of torture.

Obama’s legacy is the seamless continuity between the crimes of the Bush administration, which were compounded during his own eight years in the White House, and the coming crimes of the government headed by Trump.

Kate Middleton Dresses Like a Queen; Reports of the Replacement for Queen Elizabeth

Kate Middleton and her daughter Princess Charlotte looked a picture, as they surprised churchgoers by attending a Christmas Day service at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. Princess Kate and Prince William created plenty of headlines last week when it was announced that William and Kate would be spending Christmas with the Middleton family. This marked a break with tradition. The Royal Family traditionally join Queen Elizabeth at the royal estate in Sandringham for the Christmas festivities. Kate and Princess Charlotte wore complimentary outfits as they arrived for the Christmas Day service with other members of the Middleton family.

The Daily Mail report that William and Kate chose to snub Queen Elizabeth’s gathering to spend the holidays with her parents, Michael and Carol Middleton, at their home in the village of Bucklebury, Berkshire. It was perhaps sensible for Kate and William to stay away from Sandringham, as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are both suffering from heavy colds. The 90-year-old Queen missed her traditional Christmas morning church service for the first time since the tradition began over 30-years ago.

According to the Telegraph royal watchers, from all over the world, were disappointed when Queen Elizabeth stayed at home. The usual large crowds had gathered in Sandringham for a glimpse of the Queen and the royal family. News of the Queen’s continued illness broke when a Buckingham Palace spokesman announced that the Queen was too ill to attend church and would not undertake any public engagements over the holiday period.

Her Majesty The Queen will not attend Church at Sandringham this morning. The Queen continues to recover from a heavy cold and will stay indoors to assist with her recovery. Her Majesty will participate in the Royal Family Christmas celebrations during the day.

By contrast, the crowds were sparse when Kate Middleton, Prince William and the rest of the Middleton family arrived at church. Kate wore a maroon-colored coat with a fur collar, she matched perfectly with Princess Charlotte, who wore maroon tights and a black coat, as she was carried into church by her mom.

The fact that William and Kate were able to take Prince George and Princess Charlotte to church was, in itself, a break from tradition. The children would have remained at home had they spent Christmas at Sandringham. William and Kate were joined by Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, and James Matthews for the service in the church where Pippa is rumored to be marrying in May 2017.

Kate Middleton Begins To Replace Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth has been Queen since 1952, and her official duties include being a patron of many different organizations. Being married to Prince William ensures that Kate Middleton will be Queen one day. With Queen Elizabeth now being 90-years-old, it stands to reason that she needs to cut down on her workload. As a future Queen, it makes total sense for Kate Middleton to take over those duties.

According to the Evening Standard, that is exactly what is beginning to happen. Kate will succeed the Queen as patron of the national charity Action For Children. Middleton already has links to the organization, she visited them on a number of occasions during 2016.

It was also announced last week that the Queen is giving up her patronages with a total of 25 organizations. Kate Middleton will doubtless fill the gap in many of those organizations.

Buckingham Palace announced that “her Majesty will continue to serve as Patron to hundreds of charities and institutions but will now share this work with her family.” Kate has already taken over as patron of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Younger members of the royal family are expected to increasingly replace Queen Elizabeth on Royal engagements, especially where travel is required.

Queen Elizabeth is now the longest reigning living monarch in the world after the death of Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej in October.

Brexit compared to crucifixion of Jesus on BBC, gets French street named after it

In the latest public controversies linked to the UK’s decision to quit the EU, Brexit was compared to Pontius Pilate’s “mini-referendum” at Golgotha on BBC’s Radio 4, while a French mayor decided to pay tribute to the vote by naming a street after it.

With 2016 drawing to a close, not everyone seemed to agree with “Brexit” making it into word-of-the-year lists. Speaking on the Radio 4’s show “A Point Of View,” writer Howard Jacobson argued that “people” should be chosen as the word of the year on the grounds that it was by the “will of the people” to vote “Leave” in UK referendum – as well as decide the fate of the US presidential elections.

He then seemingly drew a parallel some found controversial.

“On a seasonal note, it is worth remembering that Pontius Pilate offered the multitude a mini-referendum… In their wisdom, the people chose the common criminal Barabbas to be released, leaving Jesus to be crucified,” Jacobson said, as quoted by the Independent.

The Bruges Group, a right-wing British think tank known for its Eurosceptic stance, demanded that the BBC issue an apology for the comments made by Jacobson.

“Apart from being tasteless, the comparison is also a smear on the 17.4 million people who legitimately voted for the UK to leave the European Union,” the Bruges Group said, requesting that both the BBC and the writer “publicly apologize for the unjustified offense.”

A BBC spokesperson defended Jacobson’s comments to the Express newspaper, saying that the writer “was deliberately using some surprising and humorous comparisons to reinforce his point that just because a majority makes a choice, it doesn't mean they are right.” The show was supposed to be delivered in a satirical tone, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, the medieval town of Beaucaire in southern France has found its way into the international media spotlight after its mayor decided to name a remote street “rue du Brexit.”

Julien Sanchez, from Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Front, (FN) has been main charge of the town on the Rhone River since 2014. He came up with the Brexit street proposal as a “homage to the sovereign British people’s decision,” he wrote in a Twitter post, with official papers attached.

The members of the Municipal Council, including Sanchez, voted in favor of the decision by 23 votes against nine. However, it can still be disputed before the Administrative Tribunal of Nimes within two months, France Bleu reports.

We have already received lots of messages of thanks and congratulations from British people," the mayor told France Bleu, adding that he is not expecting much of a debate on the issue.

While the move drew the ire of French language purists, who slammed Sanchez for attempting to give a lesson on patriotism with English neologisms, it was praised by the UK’s Leave Campaign as a “fine choice.”

The National Front and Brexit supporters have applauded the decision, predicting that another neologism, Frexit, could soon emerge next year after the French presidential elections.

“Rue du Frexit would have been better and above all prophetic!” one of the Twitter accounts campaigning for Le Pen wrote.

Le Pen, whose main rival for the presidency in 2017 is expected to be conservative François Fillon, promised to hold a referendum on France’s EU membership if elected.

The street also ironically lies between Robert Shuman street and Jean Monnet avenue. Both French politicians and state figures laid the foundations of what has now become the European Union. This prompted some inquisitive commentators to look for probably more symbolism than was originally intended.

“This street is circular. It is a longer way to go from Schuman street to... Schuman street. You have been trolled,” @eurobubbler tweeted.

“Good joke mate! Road to nowhere "Rue de Brexit," @EnricHilversum wrote.

“So a street that leaves from Europe (Robert Schuman) to return to Europe. Beautiful symbol indeed,” another commentator tweeted.

Jeremy Corbyn loves English cheese so much he once smuggled a bag of it into Mexico

Jeremy Corbyn has revealed he has a secret obsession with cheese - and believes English-made brands outshine French fromage.

In a festive chat, the Labour leader said he finds cheese “very interesting” and once smuggled a whole bagful illegally into Mexico while on holiday.

"I'm passionate about English cheese,” he said.

"It is better than French - it's sharper and there's more variety.”

Mr Corbyn said that as a backbench MP he was a member of an obscure all-party Parliamentary group on cheese, and is still fascinated by the different types to be found on a festive cheeseboard.

‘The variety of cheese in England is amazing,” he said.

"I like Somerset Brie, it has a nice taste to it. And Shropshire Blue, the county where I'm from. The sharper the better.”

Perhaps conscious of a diplomatic incident, Mr Corbyn was keen to stress he also enjoys a little French fromage.

“Camembert is better the riper it is. It's best of all with a bit of mould on it,” he said.

Mr Corbyn's obsession is so intense that he once filled a bag with English cheeses and tried to take them to Mexico while visiting his wife Laura Alvarez's family.

Suspicious border officials checked the bag and pointed out that dairy products are not allowed into Mexico, to which Mr Corbyn cheekily replied: “Solamente queso no mas!” - meaning, 'It's only cheese!'”

“They just said 'oh, okay then' and let me through,” the Labour leader laughed.

Kate Middleton Dresses Smartly; Replacement for Queen Elizabeth on the Process

Donald Trump's 'anti-establishment' cabinet owns more wealth than the annual GDP of 87 countries

And Trump still has a few picks left to make.

Unsurprisingly, there are worries Trump's cabinet will make decisions to benefit their own bulging bank accounts.

The man of the people’s cabinet includes a billionaire heiress, a former Goldman Sachs partner, which is weird, considering Trump has promised to “drain the swamp” of politicians to end corruption in government...

Iran one of safest places for Christians

In a report on Christmas celebrations by Iranian Christians, the French news agency said: “Tehran might not seem like the most obvious pit stop for Santa Claus, but Iranians love the chintzy side of Christmas and it is also one of the safest places in the Middle East for Christians”.

Titled “Santa Claus Comes to Iran”, the agency reports on how freely and respectfully, Iranian Christians observe their traditions and go New Year shopping just like all Christian countries.

“The past month has seen shoppers flocking to the Armenian district of Somayeh — the biggest Christian area in the city — to pick up fake trees, and stock up on baubles, reindeer toys and plastic snowmen,” the report writes.

“Christians are officially recognized and protected — along with Jews and Zoroastrians — under laws introduced by the revolution’s founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini,” it adds.

The report goes on to say that Christians in Iran do not share the concerns of Christians in neighboring countries. “There are none of those concerns at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in downtown Tehran on Christmas Eve”.

Archbishop Ramzi Garmou told AFP that Christianity in the region dates back to the second century when St Thomas passed through on his way to India.

He was grateful that Iran is such an oasis of peace in a region beset by war, and in which Christians face mounting persecution.

“Thanks to God, we really live in peace and security, but our neighbors live in anguish and violence. We pray for them tonight,” he said.

Killing Yemenis with seven different types of cluster bombs

Human Rights Watch stated coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia targeted areas of the city of Saada, Yemen with cluster munitions.

According to the report, Brazilian-made cluster rockets hit al-Zebat town in the old Yemeni city of Saada on December 6.

In the criminal attack, 2 Yemeni citizens were martyred and 6 people, including several children, were injured.

According to the rights group, the attack came only a day after Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the US abstained from a UN vote to ban the use of cluster munitions.

According to the international organization, the remaining pieces of surface-to-surface rockets called ASTROS II has been found in the area.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have purchased cluster munitions rockets from Brazil.

Human Rights Watch urged Brazil to stop producing and selling these types of rockets.

The organization also asked Saudi Arabia and Saudi Coalition members to stop using these kinds of munitions.

In a statement, the organization said: “Brazil should be on notice that its rockets are being used in unlawful attacks in the Yemeni war. Cluster munitions are prohibited weapons that should never be used under any circumstances due to the harm inflicted on civilians.”

According to the report,  Human Right Watch and Amnesty International documented the use of seven types of air-delivered and ground-launched cluster munitions made in the US, UK, and Brazil. The coalition finally admitted using UK- and US-made cluster munitions in attacks in Yemen.
